Car rental to Green Bay is the only reasonable transportation option if you want to witness the “Hidden Paradise” behind the forests of Meru Betiri National Park. This destination is famous for its clear tosca-green water and soft white sand, but it is located very remotely in Pesanggaran sub-district (about 85-90 km from the city center).

Access Reality: Where Do Cars Park?
As Local Expert, We are obliged to inform you of the field conditions so that you do not have wrong expectations. Rental car (any type, except 4×4 Jeep) CANNOT park right on the shoreline of Teluk Hijau.
Your rental car can only take you up to Rajegwesi Beach (main parking area). From there, you have 2 options to get to Green Bay:
- Sea Route (Ojek Boat): Take a local fishing boat through the southern waves for about 15 minutes. The view is spectacular!
- Land Trails (Trekking): Walk up the hill and through the forest for about 1-1.5 km (± 30-45 minutes). The path is quite draining but beautiful.
Our Advice: Take our rental car to Rajegwesi, then take a boat to depart, and try trekking back (or a PP boat if you have kids).

- Boat Taxi Fees: Range IDR 35,000 - IDR 50,000 per person (Round Trip).
- Cell phone signal: Blank Spot (No signal) in the Green Bay area. There is (little) signal at the Rajegwesi parking lot.
- Facilities: In Green Bay NONE food/drink vendors (Conservation Area). Bring lunch from the Rajegwesi parking lot.

The most crucial tips to Green Bay is a matter of logistics. As Green Bay is a strict conservation area, it is forbidden to set up permanent stalls there.
- Pack a lunch: Buy packaged rice or mineral water at the Rajegwesi parking lot or minimarket in Sarongan before entering the forest.
- Bring Cash: There are no ATMs on site. Prepare small change to pay for boats, parking, and entrance tickets.
- Download Map: Since the signal is completely lost, make sure the driver or you have memorized the return route, or download Google Maps Offline.

Is the Brio/Agya strong enough for Green Bay?
Strong until Rajegwesi parking lot. The road is asphalt and concrete, although there are some damaged parts. However, ground clearance The low road makes you have to slow down. SUV/MPV is recommended.
Can you go to Red Island Beach?
Very good. This is a mandatory route. Usually tourists go to Green Bay in the morning (08.00 - 12.00), then have lunch, and then continue sunset on Red Island (15:00 - 17:30). The course is one-way return.
Is it safe to swim in Green Bay?
Be careful. Although the waves are calmer than in other parts of the South Seas because of the reef, there are still underwater currents. Don't swim too far out to the center.
